C is for CD-Gerät

C

The Bs left me a bit underwhelmed and although I like the Cs better they don’t really correspond that well to the criteria. They are pixeled and sanserif(ish), but not all that regular or experimental. Perhaps I got a bit carried away with the dither pattern and making an 8×8 character.

Onwards to D.

A Saturday bar excursion

This Saturday we went on a little bar excursion in Kreuzberg and Neukölln. We first went to Walther on Wrangelstraße, then stopped by Bierkombinat Kreuzberg (first and second picture) on Manteufellstraße. Bierkombinat serves beer from its own brewery, Schoppebräu, and we usually go there for the delicious pale ale; a rare thing in Germany. When we were there now football was on, but when there isn’t some sporting event being shown they usually play great music. We continued on to a very nice little bar on Weserstraße (third picture) and then ended on another bar down the street on the corner of Weserstraße and Wildenbruchstraße. It’s a really dark bar with the ceiling and walls painted black and lit mostly by candles, so no good picture from there. However, we passed these weird frog statues on the way there.

We ended up walking almost 10km, the beer to walk ratio thus tilting heavily to the walking part of the excursion. Not counted in the total walking distance, we cheated a bit with taking the S-bahn between Sonnenallee and Ostkreuz. We’ve done that walk before and it’s more long than it is fun.

Thursday!
